As an Outdoor Activity Support Worker with GoGet Active, you will support individuals with autism and a range of learning, behavioural, and physical and mental health challenges. This role will require some weekend and evening support work.

**Role Overview**:
Working in the community, you will provide a high level of support, in a variety of situations, to our clients. You will deliver tailored support in a way which meets each individual’s physical, emotional, educational, and mental health needs, with an understanding of their potential to exhibit behaviour that challenges. At all times you will demonstrate empathy and compassion in your approach, interacting with clients in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory style.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
As an Outdoor Activity Support Worker with GoGet Active, your role is to support our clients to access activities and experiences which meet their social, emotional and sensory needs. As such, your duties include, but are not limited to:

- Working alongside colleagues as well as periods of lone working.
- Collecting clients from their home or education setting and driving them to activities. This will involve using either company vehicles or the client’s personal vehicle.
- Supporting clients to participate in a range of social and recreational activities, including but not limited to cycling, water sports, high ropes, swimming, walking and bouldering.
- Taking an active role in planning sessions for the clients you will be supporting.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients at all times.
- Treating all clients as individuals with needs and desires. It is essential that you are committed to building strong relationships with all clients, forming an understanding of their likes and dislikes, hobbies, interests and sensory, emotional physical and social needs.
- Being aware of, and up to date with, each client’s medical background, needs and prescribed medication.
- Providing a stimulating environment for our clients, bringing enthusiasm and encouragement to every session.
- Assisting clients with personal care where required, such as eating and toileting.
- Providing accurate and comprehensive handover information to the families or carers of our clients.
- Taking part in GoGet team meetings and briefings. Strong communication is essential to safeguard the wellbeing of our clients and our team.
- Observing, monitoring and recording clients’ physical and emotional wellbeing, and promptly reporting any changes or concerns to GoGet management.
- Key working for specific clients which involves being the main contact between clients, their parents/carers and GoGet. It also requires you to keep their personal information and records up to date and ensure the rest of the GoGet staff team are aware of any changes.
- Undertaking any relevant training identified by GoGet management.
- Complying with any reasonable request made by GoGet management.
- Acting in accordance with all GoGet Active procedures

**Essential requirements**
- Clean driving license held for a minimum of two years.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness - We participate in all activities alongside our clients. An enthusiasm and willingness to get involved in a variety of sporting activities, including but not limited to swimming, cycling, walking and climbing is essential.
- Organisational skills - Our clients and their families rely on us to arrive prepared and equipped for every session.
- Flexibility - Our client’s activity plan can alter depending on the client’s desires, health and/or the weather. No two days are the same, and an adaptable approach is key to ensuring that our clients get the most out of their time with us. The ability to be flexible and adapt plans at the last minute is essential.
- Empathy - Our clients are the reason we are here. We respond to unusual or concerning behaviour with empathy and compassion at all times.
- Punctuality - Our clients and their families trust us to arrive as arranged and on time. This is essential to avoid causing distress to our clients.
- Communication skills - We rely on excellent communication with our clients’ families and carers and amongst our team in order to safeguard the people we work with. In addition, many of our clients require a flexible communication style and this is vital to build
