**Who will you work with?**

Working as part of the HR on site team in Preston, you will support the day-to-day HR operations for your specified area of the business. Responsible for providing balanced, consistent and fair advice on general HR advisory matters ensuring compliance with both internal policy and process, and employment legislation.

**What will you do?**

As a HR Advisor you will act as a trusted advisor to all departments, working with line managers to ensure the implementation of the business strategic objectives, influencing their thinking on people issues, managing and pro-actively resolving issues arising.

**On a daily basis you’ll be responsible for**:
Providing accurate and timely first line HR advice to Manager, Team Leaders and Employees.

Supporting the HR function where necessary with administrative duties on confidential matters.

Act as an escalation point for HRSS, advising on complex issues and providing line managers with coaching and upskilling where required.

Manage the relationship with relevant external HR partners and work closely with Occupational Health Provider.

Lead/participate in HR Project Work to continue to drive efficiencies and process improvement.

Support HR Team in the review of existing people policies and processes.

Support HRBPs and HRD during periods of organizational change, including org design, consultations, and management of redundancy processes.

Assist the Senior HRBP in managing union relationships, negotiations, and meetings.

Management of people requests, ensuring timely processing and reviewing fairly and consistently.

Managing cases and supporting the HRBP with higher level investigations for capability, disciplinaries and grievances.

Manage the leavers discussion process for the business, ensuring issues are escalated to the relevant HRBP and prompt reports are produced on emerging trends.

**About you**

Be CIPD Level 5 or 7 Qualified

Have proven experience working in a fast-paced, demanding and varied HR environment.

Excellent communication, written, numerical skills and IT skills.

Able to build strong relationships at all levels.

Strong level of integrity

Excellent planning and organizational skills with a good eye for detail.

Good and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation
