**Job Description**:
Department

Our Power Trading function is responsible for all EDF Trading’s commercial activities in Europe. The team covers fundamental analysis, building and executing trading strategies across the geographical markets in Europe.

Position purpose

Reporting to the Senior Power Trader, this role will support the Italian Power business.

Main responsibilities

Being part of the Italian desk team will give you an opportunity to have a hand-on experience on energy markets within a dedicated mandate focused on Italy. If you are already trading and aim to develop further your competences in a fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity.
- Develop profitable trading strategies and implement it with a focus on short-term
- Identify growth opportunities for the business
- Collaborate with market analysts and traders to provide support
- Use a professional approach at all times and set high standards

Knowledge
- Good understanding of energy markets and specificities of Italian market
- Understand and carry out fundamental analysis
- Being able to challenge the hypothesis of proprietary models and lead model changes.

Trading
- Execution and follow-up of strategies
- Provide the Power Desk traders with trading opportunities through quantitative, technical and fundamental analysis.
- Understand the trading strategies implemented by the senior trader and help manage the strategies.
- Be aware and alert to any changes in the market conditions as they affect the positions and convey such information to the senior trader

- Spreadsheet maintenance
- Trade support
- Additional ad-hoc projects

Compliance

Experience required
- 2-3 years prior experience in Energy Commodity trading
- Knowledge of Italian Power and Gas markets
- Italian language knowledge not required but a plus

Technical requirements
- Strong IT skills (advanced Excel and Python)
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg / Reuters useful
