_Chappell Enterprises is currently recruiting for a Assistant Transport Planner in Southall._ - Our client are a leading construction equipment hire company in Greater London suppling projects across the London, the South East and the North West._ - Responsibility for the development, performance and maintenance of all of the transport team inclusive of drivers, planners and administration to produce an effective transport service, maximising efficency, performance, value and profitability CityHire's objectives & targets._ - Hours - 7am to 5pm - Monday to Friday_ - Performance Obejectives_ - _Meeting business targets within the transport function_ - _Smooth running of the transport dept. and its team_ - _Assist the business in achieving maximum customer satisfaction in line with City Hires "Brand Promise"_ - _Successful transport maintenance, management and complaince_ Compliance Expectations - _Performance of all duties in compliance with legal/statutory regulations_ - _Champion of City Hires transport legal undertaking, always operating within City Hires O License parameters as agreed with the Traffic Commisioners Office_ - _Fleet maintenance inclusive of PMI schedules, insurances,TFL and FORS Silver compliance_ - Roles and Responsibilties_ - _Ensure Transport team understands its duties and role within the City Hire organisation_ - _For ensuring budget adherence, planning to maximise profitability within the transport function_ - _Develop new initiatives, seeking ways to optimise the transport offering_ - _Contribute to training and ongoing development of the transport team and organisation as a whole_ - _Liaise, support and assistance within the City Hire organisation_ - _Foster a culture of continuous improvement, measuring the satisfaction and performance of the transport service_ - _Foster a culture of continuous improvement, measuring the satisfaction and performance of the transport service_ - _Recruit, train, appraise and manage performance development within the transport team_ - _Monthly reports reporting on current performance with detailed plans to rectify where needed_ - _Manage and maintain communication with internal and external customers, suppliers and stakeholders to achieve and deliver best value and satisfaction_ - _Lead and set the example for the transport team and City Hire organisation of commitment, SOP adherence and our company values_ - _Reports on Transport's KPIs ("Numbers") to the Transport Manager_ - _Manages Driver Absence planned / unplanned and training in accordance with City Hire's policies_ - _Manages the Accident / Near Miss procedures involving RTAs (FORS standard) and general accidents at work_ - _ManagesTraining requirements as per O licence, Transport legisltation and FORS for Drivers Transport office staff_ - _Manage the Transport Operation at D2 in all aspects and follow agreed company procedures (customer issue tracker, leading daily / weekly / monthly huddles etc.)_ - _Able to build good rapport with all key stakeholders, managing supplier and sub contractor services effectively _ Software knowledge desired - MS Office - Syrinx Higher Cocept - Route Planning Software - PMI and Maintenance Software - Tacho Managment Software
