Job description

Permanent, 16 hours per week, across 2 days Monday - Friday.

Assistive Technology is part of the Rothercare Team, which sits within Adult Care. The aim of the service is to support individuals to maintain a level independence whilst reducing some of the risks of independent living. This is achieved via the provision of technology, sensors and wearables which will alert Rothercare, the individual’s carer’s or family member.

The postholder will action and progress assistive technology referrals via the Adult Care system (LAS); ensuring the assessment will meet the needs of the individual; this will involve undertaking a low level, tailored assessment with the individual or their contact, to ensure the appropriate technology or sensors are deployed and any associated parameters are discussed and agreed. You will complete and co-ordinate the engineers schedule to install the equipment/sensors into the individual’s home. There will also be a requirement to occasionally deliver, install, or fault find low level equipment within the individuals property.

You will ensure that all records and data systems are accurately updated and in accordance with General Data Protection regulations and be able to produce and maintain statistical and performance reports on a regular basis and ad hoc basis as required.

You will be responsible for stock procurement, stock management and liaising with suppliers, which will also involve research for new innovative technology, setting up trials and evaluating effectiveness.

The role will involve working in partnership with the Rothercare element of the team and other partners including, Health & Social Care, GP’s, family members and other partners.

You will also undertake assistive technology awareness sessions, presentations and promotional events with RMBC staff, external partners and organisations. There is also a requirement to support the day-to-day supervision of the Business Support Officers.
