At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Dockside Operative at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

**The role**
As a Dockside Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. In this role you will be responsible for tracking materials on and off nuclear submarines and transporting to and from the submarine.

Day-to-day, you’ll be working in a safety critical role and will be required to perform accordingly.
- Track equipment on and off nuclear submarines.
- Transport equipment safely to and from the submarine, therefore a full clean driving licence is essential.
- Secure items in transit and obey with the highway code.
- Load/unload vehicles manually and with forklift trucks.
- Maintain clear docksides at all times.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard

**Essential experience of the Dockside Operative**
- Full clean driving licence required, with previous experience driving vans - Desirable.
- Forklift truck operating experience - Desirable.
- Willingness to undertake development training.
- Ability to work under pressure, alone or as part of a team.
- Demonstrates a basic knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling and Risk Assessment Regulations.

**Qualifications for the Dockside Operative**
- Full clean driving licence.
- Counterbalance FLT Operator - Desirable.
