**Brief**

Principal CAD Technician needed for a British multinational infrastructure group based in Derby who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Principal CAD Technician that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of development usingAuto CAD and Civils 3D.

**Role purpose**:

- Produce a range of Drawings and Material Schedules to the required standard first time and within time scales set;
- Assist in the checking of Documents produced by other members of the team;
- To actively develop working methods to improve the quality and quantity of the output;
- Assist in managing workload and output for Civils' 3D tasks.

**Benefits**

**What the role entails**:
Some of the main duties of the Principal CAD Technician will include:

- Producing a range of documents as required by a specific project
- Liaising as necessary with the designer and operations personnel to determine the most suitable and practical interpretation of design requirements
- Complying with project and function specific standards and practices
- Overseeing and managing output of the Civils 3D focussed drawings/designs
- Assisting in the estimation of timescales for a specific task

**What experience you need to be the successful Principal CAD Technician**
- Experience in a Civil Engineering discipline, producing Layout, Fabrication & General Arrangement drawings and Bills of Materials/Schedules
- Experienced user of Civils 3D to a competent level with the ability to manage Civils' 3D, create parametric families, produce drawing outputs and import and manipulate Point Cloud Data
- Experienced user of Autodesk AutoCad (in both 2d and 3d environments)
- Capable of managing time well and planning ahead while working on multiple projects
- HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline.
