A leading UK sign and display equipment manufacturer based in Great Yarmouth is looking for a graduate or experienced Product Design Technician/Engineer to join their growing business to strengthen the existing Design and Development team.

They are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and passionate team player who can use a combination of creative skills and technical knowledge to design products that are easier to use, more efficient to produce, and more attractive.

The work involves creating new products and improving how existing products work or look, whilst understanding that customer and quality requirements are critical in terms of budget, product function and performance.

The role also includes the use of verification, and testing techniques to approve externally sourced, pre-designed products or components to ensure they will satisfy all requirements.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Active contribution in helping the D&D team meet the departmental goals
- Assisting with the design and development of new and existing products from concept to manufacture including product testing support
- Creation of specification documents (e.g. BOM’s, drawings) and costing information throughout the design and development process.
- Support whole operations team with selected product or process related quality problems
- Progress reporting at weekly project review meetings
- On-time in full project completion

**Qualifications**
- HNC/D or Degree in Engineering or Product Design

**Competencies**
- Good communication, presentation and written skills
- High standard of computer literacy and CAD software operation (ideally SolidWorks)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Project management experience/skills
- Knowledge of:

- design, engineering and testing principles
- material processing techniques
- tooling and product design criteria

- Organised, enthusiastic and energetic
- Factual problem solver with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects, often under pressure and often with limited supervision
- Attention to detail and a desire to get things right first time
