**Starting Salary**:£12,510 (£20,850 full time equivalent)
**Job Type**: Permanent
**Location**: Lancaster, with flexibility on work location where possible however some office attendance will be required
**Contracted Hours**: 21 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday - pattern of hours is flexible.

**About the team**
In the role of People and Culture Assistant, you will undertake administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the People and Culture team. You will also get to be involved in administering wellbeing and engagement activities. This role is definitely varied and you will continually learn new things. The team will value your input and there will be lots of opportunities to put forward your ideas to improve the employee life cycle in line with our strategic aims.

In this role you will:
- You will have great attention to detail to ensure accuracy when undertaking administrative duties such as drafting letters and documentation. These tasks are pivotal in supporting a range of People and Culture processes relating to (but not restricted to) joiners and leavers, promotions, fixed-term contracts, flexible working, family-related leave, and compassionate leave.
- Exhibit digital fluency when maintaining and updating the People and Culture system, including updating employee records, processing joiners and leavers, updating annual leave and service awards, running reports, undertaking data checks and audits and any other reasonable duties
- You will be passionate about providing first-line advice/training to managers regarding recruitment processes on our new applicant tracking system, general process and initial stages of absences.
- You will be a team player ensuring you support your team members when needed as our team has a one-team ethos and we will always help each other.

- Qualified to GCSE level 4 or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of seniority in an organisation, both verbally and in writing, to provide excellent customer service
- Experienced and confident user of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience of writing letters
- Ability to organise and prioritise work with experience of achieving agreed targets and working to deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and with others in a team
If you have the following attributes, then we’d be even more impressed:
- CIPD Level 3 Qualification
- Previous experience in an HR or Recruitment role
- Experience of accurately inputting to an HR system
- Experience of taking notes
