**Job overview**:
Band 4 research assistant supporting the Stroke research delivery team at Fairfield General Hospital.

With the support of the research team, you will assist in delivering new and existing studies, recruiting and supporting patients and their families whilst collecting and documenting data according to research governance standards and regulations.

You will be a key member of a service that provides specialist research and clinical care to all participants in clinical trials. You will be expected to liaise with study companies and provide them with data of the highest standard; you must also demonstrate a commitment to participant safety and welfare.

You will be qualified to NVQ level 4 or have relevant general clinical or research experience, although further training will be provided to enable you to support the many studies that are conducted in the Clinical Research Facility.

**Main duties of the job**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Research & Innovation Team at The Northern Care Alliance and be part of the Neurology Research team based at the Clinical Research Facility ward 19 Fairfield General Hospital.

You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of new, potentially life changing, treatments for patients. Our research activity has expanded considerably over recent years we facilitate both commercial and non-commercial research studies over a wide range of specialties, including Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiology, Rheumatology and Gastroenterology.

With the support of the research team, you will assist in delivering new and existing studies, recruiting and supporting patients and their families whilst collecting and documenting data according to research governance standards and regulations.

- Experience of working in the NHS
