Headquarters Air Command is a very attractive place to work. Located in the village of Walters Ash, the operational sites have good public transport links with regular bus services to/from Aylesbury and High Wycombe. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
**Job description**:
You will lead the Strategic Workforce Planning team whose primary remit is to support and maintain a skilled and efficient workforce, emphasising the importance of ‘The right people in the right place with the right skills’.
The primary responsibility of the Civilian Workforce Planning Team is to work with a range of stakeholders to enable a workforce that is the right size, shape, and for now and the future.
You will be responsible to the Head of Civilian Workforce Management.
The activities will fall into these main areas:
- Compilation and analysis of workforce data to help inform, influence, lead and execute business decisions leading to improved 2* and Air business delivery.
- Identify potential gaps in capacity and capability for each business area and location over the short, medium, and long-term of demand vs supply and scenario plan to optimise the workforce mix of Whole Force by Design and close the gaps.
- Responsibility for gap analysis and Pinch points, supporting the compilation of the Air Force Management Board dashboard working collaboratively with Air Human Resources Business Partners
- Assist in the development of the 10-year Strategic Workforce Plan (SWP), liaising with stations/units, and incorporating forward plans as utilised by Station/Unit Business Managers and Unit Workforce Planners, aligning to the Strategic Workforce Plan, and incorporating validation of the 10-year plan (ABC).
- Maintain the CW Team links with counterparts in the other Commands and MOD Civilian HR.
- Oversight of the headcount cap figures for Air and work with team to ensure these are as accurate as possible.
- Working closely with the business areas to understand their growth and talent needs in the short, medium, and long-term.
- Develop and agree assumptions to translate Civil Service, MOD and RAF strategy into a demand signal.
- Review Air interaction with DBS, MyHR and COS Pers Data Analytics Team.
- Consider how DBS' transformation work affects current Air policy process, helping to support Air with any business decisions required
This role will include line management of 1x HEO and will be the countersigning officer for 1x EO.
This post may require travel to attend meetings with a range of Units and other stakeholder organisations.
