**Role Overview**
- Assisting ships staff in connecting shore power cable.
- Assisting with any work as may be instructed by Chief Engineer.
- Carrying out hourly fire patrols and recording on clock at each location.
- Regularly checking:

- Any running machinery
- Mooring ropes
- Gangway, safety net and securing ropes
- For unauthorised persons on board
- Starting duty diesel alternator as per vessel Work Instructions
- Changing to ship’s power as per vessel Work Instructions
- Calling ship’s crew at time indicated in Night Order Book.
- Maintaining Mess Rooms in a clean and tidy condition.
- Removing Engine Room rubbish to skip ashore.
- Complying with instructions as listed in Night Order Book, sign when completed
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the Chief Engineer.
