There has never been a better time to join Lostock High School. Our recent ‘Good’ Ofsted rating (September 2021) recognises our determination that Lostock High will continue to develop as a popular school of choice for our community. We pride ourselves on engaging pupils, making learning exciting and rewarding, and on our tenacity. You will join a strong team of individuals who are committed to improving life chances for young people, and who believe in preparing pupils not just for exams, but for life.
We want all of our students to achieve their potential and we make sure that there are no limitations or barriers to reaching the highest possible standards of academic, social and personal development.
We have a hugely talented and committed staff team to make sure that our curriculum, guidance, care and support meets the different needs of every young person, and we pride ourselves on having high expectations. Our students are well organised, supportive of each other and personally ambitious.
Are you passionate about English and determined to make a real difference? We are looking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and enthusiastic Second in English to support the Head of Department in raising standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the English curriculum area in line with national school policies/priorities.
This will include engaging with whole faculty initiatives regarding the quality of learning, teaching and assessment. In addition, it will mean monitoring pupil progress and coordinating effective intervention to improve pupil outcomes for pupils for whom you are accountable.
We will be looking for commitment to improving life chances for young people, as well as commitment to your own professional development. Our school is a lively and exciting place to work. We truly live by our motto of Inspire, Transform, Succeed.
You will be well supported by the Senior Leadership Team who are focused on teaching and learning, and by a comprehensive programme of induction and training to ensure your individual needs are met.
