Our young, talented and dynamic team carries vast knowledge and expertise in fire safety comprising of fully qualified service technicians and technical specialists, fire safety consultants and fire trainers. We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our company as a Fire Safety Risk Assessor. What you’ll be doing: The role of Fire Risk Assessor is to conduct Type 1 fire risk assessments across a whole range of properties i.e. Residential buildings including flats, houses in multiple occupation, residential care, hotels, hostels, general needs blocks, independent living schemes. Small medium and Large Industrial and commercial premises. Shops, offices, licensed premises etc. You will be responsible for managing your own day to day activities and workload with deliverables and timescales agreed with our Operations Director. Depending on training and qualifications, you may be expected to undertake and successfully complete a range of professional qualifications within the first 12 months of appointment. What you’ll be responsible for - Undertaking fire risk assessments in accordance with nationally recognised guidance in an appropriate format, to an accepted standard in a timely manner. - The day-to-day management of the AFP Fire Risk Assessment programme. - Liaising with internal teams and advising them on fire safety arrangements within their particular sphere of influence. - Attending client meetings when necessary. - Provide technical advice to clients. - Manage the expectation of assigned clients. - The production of specific data, associated reporting, analysis and overview. Who you’ll be working with: You’ll be working directly with both the Operations Director and Commercial Director and offering technical support to the AFP sales and office teams where needed. We’d like you to build relationships internally with all teams to embed the values of the Fire Assessment Team engendering strong, direct, working relationships both internally and externally. About you: **Skills, Knowledge, Experience** **Essential** **Desirable** Educated to a good standard, holding appropriate qualifications and/or experience of working in a similar environment ü such as: Ø Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Ø The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 Ø Building Regulations - Approved Document B, Volume 1 and 2 Ø PAS 79 Fire Risk Assessment - Guide and Recommended Methodology Ø Specific British Standards relating to Fire Precaution and Prevention, including, BS9991 Ø Local Government - Fire Safety in Built Environment Ø LACORS Guidance on Fire Safety Provisions for certain types of existing housing ü Have completed or willing to undertake a series of industry recognised training courses ü Intermediate level - Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and a willingness to embrace new ways of working using IT. ü You will be confident in making contact with customers and their managers and be able to manage your own workload ü Have a full clean driving license and be willing to travel as part of your day to day working activity ü Ability to produce accurate Fire Risk Assessment reports, which can translate legislation to clients in a jargon-free user-friendly manner. ü Ability to understand the teams’ Legal obligations and to draft associated paperwor
