The new BA (Hons) Textiles has three pathways in sustainable print with surface, constructed knit and woven. All combine with embellishment processes such as dyeing with natural dyes, sustainable material making, bio-materials, paper-making, felt-making, stitch, rust and indigo, we bring in other techniques as necessary to enhance the development of innovative project work.
The role is for a lecturer with inspiring teaching experience and qualifications, current industry links, innovative practice and sustainability to lead the print pathway and associated year groups. Applicants will need to show us relevant experience and creative practice in delivering a combination of traditional and innovative sustainable analogue processes in dye, print and surface, and CAD with digital print is essential. And an interest or skills in developing têxtile embellishment processes (resistant and non-resistant) combined with printed têxtiles.
We are looking for an enthusiastic academic with a creative practice, excellent management and organisational skills, verbal, written and visual communications essential. The ability to work flexibly and autonomously and as part of a strong team in a challenging and fast paced, changing environment is critical.
Actual salary for this post is £30,779- £35,531 per annum
