**General Maintenance worker**

Woodview Care Home is situated on the Bradwell |hsll Nursing Home site we are seeking to recruit a competent General Maintenance worker to work at their nursing home.

The successful applicant must be willing to work on Sunday and demonstrate good levels of flexibility.

This is a permanent position for full time hours 5 days per week.

Full time - 40 hours per week: Monday 8.00am-5.00pm, Tuesday 8.00am-5.00pm, Wednesday 8.00am-5.00pm, Thursday 8.00am-5.00pm, Sunday 8.00am-5.00pm (including 1 hour lunch break)

The successful applicant would be required to work at least one day over the festival period and on snowy days it will require an early start in order to make the site accessible to the staff and general public.

The role will involve carrying out general maintenance works throughout the Nursing Home. The ideal applicant should be able to work on their own initiative and posses a strong sense of quality and attention to detail. Ideally experience in general maintenance including basic knowledge of plumbing, draining and electrical systems would be advantageous. Duties made include but not limited to:

- Painting and decorating
- Small plumbing jobs e.g. fitting new taps, toilets, unblocking drains etc
- Small electrical jobs e.g. rewiring a new plug socket, light, replacing bulbs etc
- Garden maintenance e.g. strimming, weeding, jet washing, sweeping patios etc
- Maintenance audits e.g. fire doors, wheelchairs, beds etc
- Portering
- General repairs e.g. hanging pictures, fixing shelves, fixing tables/chairs etc
- Salting or driveway and parking area for cars and walkways in bad weather conditions
- Delivering and collecting prescriptions form GP surgeries, collecting materials etc

A full DBS disclosure will be required if successful at interview stage.
