University of York, United Kingdom University of York Full time

The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD) at the University of York is appointing a Research Project Coordinator to support delivery of projects across the department’s large research programmes.

CRD is an academic research department that specialises in and is at the forefront of evidence synthesis and health technology assessment. Our systematic reviews and other evidence synthesis projects span a broad range of health and public health areas. They provide best evidence to inform policy and practice decisions and are underpinned by a programme of methodological development and commitment to knowledge exchange.

CRD is a friendly and supportive workplace that is part of a wider health and social care research community within the University of York. We embrace hybrid and flexible working patterns, enabling staff to work partly remotely (within the UK) according to the requirements of the role. We value diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity and fostering an inclusive culture where we can all be ourselves.

**Role**:
This is a new position. We are looking for someone with proven experience of providing first-rate coordination across multiple projects running simultaneously, balancing competing deadlines and demands. You will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills and be proficient in handling numerical data, complex spreadsheets and other software, together with excellent written and oral communication skills. As the project Coordinator will handle sensitive data, discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.

Tasks include:

- Supporting the Head of Department and Programme Directors to plan and monitor the resourcing of research projects and helping ensure that milestones are met and projects are delivered on time and within their resource budget - requiring demonstrable proficiency in using spreadsheets and software.
- Support Programme Directors in coordinating designated aspects of research projects (often several running simultaneously) throughout their life cycle from initiation to successful conclusion - requiring strong organisational and project management skills.
- Liaising and engaging with various stakeholders including staff within CRD, other University departments, external collaborators and funders - requiring excellent communication skills.
- Collating data and drafting text for sections of reports and meeting notes - requiring proficiency in working with numerical data and excellent writing skills.
- Organising meetings, maintaining research programme documentation and guidance and logging examples of impact - requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Assisting in preparing project communications, including drafting materials for websites, blogs and social media.
- Carrying out additional administrative tasks to support the department as required by the Departmental Research Support Manager.

As this is a new role providing administrative support for research across the department there is an opportunity to work with the HoD and Departmental Research Support Manager to further shape the role and optimise administrative processes.

This is a full-time position, but we will also consider applicants who wish to work part-time provided that this is at least 60% of a whole time equivalent (e.g. 3 days per week).

**Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed**:

- Level 3 qualification. (Qualifications at this level include A levels. Please view the full list.) We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience
- Experience of coordinating the planning and resourcing of multiple simultaneous projects (preferably within a research context)
- Experience of working and communicating with a range of stakeholders
- Experience of preparing, analysing and presenting numerical information
- Experience of writing content for reports and other communications
- Excellent project coordination and management skills
- Proficiency in handling numerical data
- Excellent communications skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to use initiative to solve problems, working as part of a team and also independently
- Ability and willingness to be flexible in approach and to work collegiately
- Experience of organising meetings and making arrangements for visitors

**Interview date**: To be confirmed

The University strives to be diverse and inclusive - a place where we can ALL be ourselves.

We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. #EqualityatYork
