**Job Description**:
**The Role**

Casework Support Officers will also be required to support with several other tasks, including but not limited to:

- Administrative tasks to include pagination and filing, receiving the daily courier.
- General office duties, including meeting and escorting visitors and handling incoming and outgoing post.
- Lab management to include taking and submitting environmental samples, replenishing stock and reagents, and organising equipment services.

All the above activities within this role are carried out following Standard Operating Procedures and require adherence to appropriate Health and Safety and Quality protocols. The role holder for the CSO position will be required to work within a busy environment interfacing with internal team members and external customers to ensure excellent customer service is upheld. They will contribute to the success of the casework team by completing all set tasks required whilst ensuring quality is always maintained.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Cleaning of two laboratories on a weekly basis
- Managing two labs including stock, reagents and equipment
- File paginating
- Receipt of exhibits and files from the courier
- Returning exhibits to police forces
- Escorting and supervising visitors
- Use of Casework Laboratory Management System
- Communication with Examiners and Reporters when applicable

**Qualifications**:
**Required Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills**
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade 4-9 or above to include English, Maths and Science.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft and Google packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace)
- Understanding of the confidential nature of the business
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, challenging environment

**Preferred Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills**
- Previous experience of working in a support role
- Recent experience of working within an environment handling forensic exhibits
