Early Years Send Worker

**Position**: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Support Worker

**Location**: Little Foxes Nursery, Brinkworth, SN15 5DX

**Hours**: 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 1:00pm Friday

**Contract**: Option for either full time or term time position.

**Salary**: £27,950 - £31300 FTE depending on qualifications and experience.

Are you passionate about inclusive early years education? Do you have experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities? Little Foxes Nursery is seeking a skilled and compassionate SEND Support Worker to join our dedicated team.

In this vital role, you’ll work closely with children who need a differentiated approach to learning, creating bespoke learning plans and contributing to a supportive, inclusive environment. You’ll collaborate with our practitioners, families, and outside agencies to ensure each child’s unique needs are fully met.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver personalised learning plans for children with SEND.
- Support children with ASD, communication difficulties, and complex medical or developmental needs.
- Observe and assess children, keeping accurate records to inform planning and referrals.
- Contribute to multi-agency meetings and complete referral paperwork (e.g. SALT, Early Years Inclusion).
- Support SEND children across all nursery rooms, using your time effectively to assist both staff and children.
- Use or be willing to train in Super Core, PECS, Makaton, and other communication tools.
- Provide room cover when needed, supporting staff and modelling inclusive practice.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Level 3 (or higher) qualification in early years or childcare.
- Experience working with children with SEND in a nursery or school setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, early intervention, and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with children, families, and professionals.
- Ability to write and contribute to My Support and EHCP plans.
- Level 2 safeguarding training (or willingness to complete).
- Physically fit, capable with supporting children with personal care, challenging physical behaviours; able to take active part in trips and outdoor play.

**Desirable**:

- Training in Super Core, PECS, Makaton, or equivalent communication systems.
- Experience writing or contributing to referrals for external services.
