1. According to the current rota, undertake housekeeping duties in all areas of the home areas as requested. At all times support and encourage clients in achieving and maintaining independence and respect their dignity and privacy in accordance with the role of a Domestic post.

2. Tidy and clean bedrooms, lounges, dining areas, utility rooms, bathrooms and toilets according to the

standards and frequencies laid down. Use any equipment supplied for this purpose.

3. Provide a comprehensive laundry service to the home for personal and domestic laundry. Operate

home based washing and ironing equipment. Store and distribute clean laundry. Make carers aware

of unmarked laundry.

4. Prepare refreshments, snacks, and light meals when necessary in accordance with the requirements

of the Domestic (Servery) post.

5. Be aware of all of the Parklands policies and procedures regarding health, hygiene and safety at work, particularly in relation to the use of cleaning materials and food storage and handling.

6. Participate in staff meetings, training and development and staff supervision.

7. Undertake any other duties which contribute to providing a caring and homely environment for the

clients in an effective and efficient way. This may include deep clean schedule on monthly basic lay out by the housekeeper/ home manger.

8. Be prepared to assist the organisation in training/providing staff cover in other areas.

This job description will be reviewed periodically and may be changed in order to reflect the needs of the service
