We are supporting our client, a successful manufacturing group with the recruitment of a Finance Analyst due to internal promotion. The purpose of this role is to lead on demand forecasting activities associated with customers and products for the UK group of businesses, using both internally and externally generated data to create and maintain rolling forecasts in partnership with thecommercial team. This will support decision making in the Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning and financial planning process.
Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager your role will involve;
- Develop and supply timely rolling demand forecasts at multiple levels of customer and product detail to support the Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning and financial planning processes.
- Manage the demand forecasting process from base forecast creation to consolidating commercial team forecasts for presentation, review and appraisal by the wider business.
- Communicate base forecast, market and historic trends to the Commercial Leadership Team to aid the build-up of a commercial forecast.
- Provide the commercial leadership team, operations, and supply chain team with supporting analysis on actual performance and forecasts to aid in decision-making.
- Conduct industry and market research that can be utilized to enhance forecast inputs and provide a quarterly market report to the commercial leadership team and wider business.
- Analyze actual results vs forecast (using tools / measures such as BIAS and MAPE) using the information to drive improvements in forecast accuracy.
- Continuously develop systems and processes to improve the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of demand forecasting and supporting analysis.
- Prepare a report monthly on the market, actual performance and forecast summaries for the Group Commercial Director.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Experience in an FP&A role, ideally from a manufacturing or retail business
- Strong analytical skills - must be an advanced user of Excel and proficient in using ERP systems
- Highly numerate with demonstrable experience of dealing with and manipulating complex data sets
