**Role Summary**:
The Production Machine Technician performs complex set ups and machining operations on small machine tools. Cuts various metals to size and shape to meet specifications, and operates small machine and production tools.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Performs complex set-up and machining operations, on the small machine tools including the set-up and operation of vertical mills, lathes, drill press, multiple spindle drills and riveting machines
- Installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds a variety of machining tools including lathes, milling machines and drill presses
- Diagnose problems, determines extent of repair necessary or feasible, then repairs and reassembles
- Makes ordinary replacements of new parts and/or complete new assemblies and selects materials, plans and performs machining operations on new or replacement parts
- Assists in setting up complex production equipment and conducting test, analyses and calibration of assemblies in accordance with company policy
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

**Skills, Knowledge & Attributes**:
**Education**:A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred.
**Certifications**:Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Skilled in complex set ups and machining operations on small machine tools
- Strong math skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to understand complex instructions including schematics blueprints, schematics, models or specifications
- Effective oral and written communication
- Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options
- Computer proficient
