Older People's Mental Health

A seven-month fixed term contract for a Band 6 art psychotherapist (up to 22.5 hours a week)

As part of the Pan Dorset Older People’s Psychology Service, you will work with friendly, dedicated and forward thinking psychologists to provide specialist psychological services for older people under the care of OPCMHTs in West Dorset.

In addition to art psychotherapy, the provision of support to staff, training and supervision for multi-disciplinary colleagues are highly valued aspects of psychological input in older people’s services.

The Trust is committed to the development of its staff and provides training opportunities to further develop skills and supports research initiatives. You will receive regular clinical supervision from an art psychotherapist.

To provide art psychotherapy interventions (both individual and group) to older adults being seen by the CMHT in order to improve service users' recovery and wellbeing. The post holder will also contribute to the production of risk assessments and be key in providing psychologically informed advice and support for those directly involved in the care of the individual.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
