**Job Title**: CAD Engineer

**Location**: Birmingham

**Salary**: £22,000 - £25,000 per year

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Role Purpose**:
Reporting to the technical manager, the CAD engineer will be responsible for producing fabrication drawings using AutoCAD and maintaining drawing records.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Read technical drawings, schedules, and specifications
- Prepare 2D fabrication drawings from sketches or order specifications using AutoCAD
- Liaise with engineers to ensure all relevant technical information is accurately documented on drawings
- Submit drawings for approval, revise drawings as required and issue for manufacture
- Maintain drawing register and any relevant schedules or supporting documents
- Identify and raise potential issues including tolerance or interfacing problems
- Assist product design and development activities.
- Prepare isometric representations or 3D models to aid drawing clarity
- Any other duties as required

**Skills and Experience**:

- Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, this role would suit a recent graduate
- Skilled with AutoCAD software, previous experience or certifications are beneficial
- Ideally have knowledge of ventilation systems or fabrication processes
- Awareness of construction tolerances
- Confident with Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook)
- Attention to detail and can work independently to tight deadlines
- Previous relevant work experience is preferred but not required
