JOB OVERVIEW
Based full time at our Redditch manufacturing facility. Tamlite Lighting is currently recruiting for a a new Junior Product Designer to join their established Product Development Team. As a UK Manufacturer this opportunity will allow you to expand your knowledge and understanding of materials and manufacturing processes and hone your skills as a designer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product discovery - collaborating closely with the product design & engineering teams, running customer research, competitor analysis, and building understanding of the problems we need to solve and opportunities we should take
- Taking design from concept to completion
- Ability to manage most up to date files for all parts, assemblies and drawings as well as building QC & assembly documents.
- Preparing BOMs and manufacturing packages
- Fault finding and problem-solving with processes or design detailing
- Improving, by design, the assembly methods, parts and fixtures to increase productivity yields
- Communicating with stakeholders across all functions of the business as well as externally in order to ensure there’s a constant flow of information between all parties.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Role suitable to a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years design experience looking to expand on their career.
- Proficient skills in Solidworks, PDM, Technical drawings and CAD management
- An in-depth of knowledge in parts, assemblies & manufacturing processes. Including metal machining, injection moulding and aluminium extrusion
- Possess a positive, proactive attitude
- Forward thinking and willing to take responsibility in working and continually trying to improve
- Numeracy, literacy, computer literate, attention to detail, good time keeping
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
