General Cleaner

Summary We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and friendly individual to join our team at Hanbury Hall to deliver and maintain our visitor and office facilities open throughout the year.

This role is all about delivering and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout our visitor and office facilities contributing to the day-to-day operations of the site at Hanbury Hall.

What it's like to work here Set in the Worcestershire countryside, Hanbury Hall was saved for the nation thanks to its fabulous wall and ceiling paintings by renowned 18th century painter, Sir James Thornhill. The recreated formal gardens and just under 400acres of parkland offer a year-round visitor experience, 7-days a week - welcoming over 200,000 people each year. As part of the National Trust’s ‘North Worcestershire’ portfolio, you’ll be joining a diverse and creative team of staff and volunteers. And it’sa great time to join the team as we embark on a £2m project to improve our infrastructure.

You’ll be part of the Facilities & Support Services team, working with another General Cleaner and the Facilities & Support Services Manager who will also line manage you. You won't be managing anyone but may have opportunities to supervise and look aftervolunteers where needed and appropriate.

What you'll be doing You’ll carry out cleaning as per schedules, ensuring the appropriate level of care is taken to maintain a high standard of cleanliness to the visitor and office facilities in accordance with NT standards. You’ll comply with procedures tomanage risk to yourself, your team, volunteers, visitors and contractors. You’ll strive to be efficient and ensure effectiveness in all the work you do, ensuring cleaning equipment, tools and equipment are properly stocked, maintained and stored. You’ll communicateinformation gathered while carrying out cleaning schedules which contributes to the understanding and continued maintenance of the visitor and office facilities.

- Good literacy and manual dexterity with an enthusiasm to learn
- Some relevant experience would be preferred
- Willingness to undertake continuing professional development and personal skills development
- Good team player, able to work alongside colleagues and volunteers, helping to create a great place to work
- A flexible approach and ability to multi-task
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
