**The role**

We have an exciting opportunity for Health and Safety practitioners to join our Health and Safety Team.

We are looking for **two **experienced Health and Safety Advisors to help us deliver a range of health and safety activities across our geographically dispersed organisation.

You can be based out of either of the following offices: Croydon, Farringdon Sittingbourne, Maidstone or Battle. You’ll have the option to work in a hybrid way when appropriate and as agreed with your manager.

What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Advisor (SHSA) you will:

- Assist in managing and monitoring the H&S Management System and the continual improvement of H&S across Southern Housing
- Provide day-to-day support for managers and colleagues, ensuring policies and procedures are consistently applied in line with the principles of sensible risk management
- Carry out health and safety audits, inspections and investigations
- Develop and deliver Health and Safety related training and briefings
- Promote a culture where managing and being accountable for risk is recognised as an essential part of business as usual.

**What you will need**:

- Professional qualification in Health and Safety (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent)
- Experience working as a Health and Safety Advisor
- Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation, guidance and best practice
- Experience of formulating, implementing and revising Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Experience of identifying sensible and practical risk reduction measures
- Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

Note 1. Travel between sites across the whole of Southern Housing’s portfolio will be a requirement for this role.

Note 2. There may be a requirement to attend meetings and other activities outside normal working hours.
