We are recruiting a Customer Focused Senior Payroll Administrator to support the Payroll team to deliver an effective and efficient payroll service to the University Group. You will work closely with colleagues within the People Team, key stakeholders across the business and employees to respond to queries and offer professional payroll advice.
You will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks such as document checking, monitoring and recording as part of the payroll cycle for both UK and International payroll. You will also be responsible for raising escalation queries to the Pension Team for more complex queries.
You will undertake operational talks of the computerised payroll systems including data inputting and maintenance of employee details such as personal information and bank details, arranging for any amendments to be made in a timely manner. You will run and process calculations for employee payments including occupational and statutory sick pay, maternity pay and any other deductions in line with the appropriate legislation and University Group policies and procedures, as well as sickness and pro-rata pay.
You will support the processing the payroll administration of all new employees to the University. This will include setting them up on the Payroll system, ensuring all information is accurate and input in line with the Real Time Information (RTI) requirements.
**Person Specification**:
- CIPP qualified or BTEC Level 3 certificate in payroll or any equivalent payroll qualification or equivalent work experience
- Experience of previously working in a high performing customer focused environment.
- experience of working within a large payroll service within a large organisation and or Team
- Detailed knowledge of regulations governing payroll administration, including NMW
- Experience of all payroll work, including thorough working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, SSP, SMP, SAP.
- Experience of using computerised payroll systems. Experience of working with Sap Success Factors would be advantageous.
