Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. It also aims to disrupt the organised criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable for their personal gain.

The Operational Capabilities Command (OCC) is a newly established command that will ensure that operational colleagues have the skills, capabilities, tools, and infrastructure which are modern, environmentally sustainable, fit for purpose and allow all our people to maximise their operational effectiveness.

We want to deliver business functions in a more consistent manner to both deliver efficiency and enhance inter-operability across the Enforcement, Compliance and Crime (ECC) command, sustaining our operational priorities and programmes, now and into the future.

Our enabling functions are vital to ensuring that resources and business management systems operate effectively and efficiently.

The role requires leadership of a fast-paced, high profile private office function. This will be a demanding but varied role and provides the opportunity of involvement in strategic and complex matters as well as work with senior leaders. You will be at the heart of a large operational command and will work with a broad range of colleagues and directly with senior leaders, including the Director. You will also input into policy delivery, transformation, and representational responsibilities to deliver Immigration Enforcement strategic priorities.

**Essential Criteria**
- Excellent organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal), be confident in and experience of working in a fast-paced, pressured environment, as well as leadership and/or recent secretariat experience.
- You should also be able to tailor your approach to different audiences and be comfortable working directly with senior colleagues and leading large operational teams.
- Ability to work under pressure with mínimal supervision, handle a large amount of complex information, identify key issues and be comfortable with collaborating and coordinating with different teams and grades to take action quickly for desired outcome.
- Highly organised, excellent attention to detail, good at using data to drive decisions and inform team priorities.
- Able to multi-task, managing a varied workload, prioritising effectively and reacting quickly and calmly to changing circumstances.
- Good awareness of political sensitivities, and ability to see the bigger picture when considering individual issues.
