We are looking for an Area Fundraising Officer to achieve set fundraising targets and KPIs and to create the best possible experience for our charity supporters, volunteers and partners. This role will cover the local area of our Birmingham Hospice
**About the Role**
Acorns is currently the UK’s largest children’s hospice charity, in terms of both numbers of children and families supported, and annual expenditure on our care work. We need to raise more than £10 million each year to run and support our care services and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our local community. As an Area Fundraising Officer, you’ll work towards agreed fundraising plans and objectives to deliver a regular programme of fundraising activities.
You’ll work with local businesses, places of education, faith groups and individuals who are undertaking their own fundraising activities for Acorns. You’ll support with their events when needed and build your relationships to maximise income generation and secure repeat support. You’ll share case studies, telling great stories to supporters to ensure that they understand the difference that their donations make. You’ll create new relationships by preparing and delivering pitches, talks and presentations.
**About You**
You will have demonstrable experience of meeting targets and KPIs, with proven success at sales. You’ll have a track record of managing and developing relationships with individual donors or customers and be committed to building good internal and external relationships. You’ll be self-motivated to achieve objectives and probably have a background in sales or fundraising.
You’ll often be taking steps to achieve new fundraising support, so you’ll have experience of identifying, pitching and securing new support and strong presentation skills. You’ll have basic knowledge of fundraising as a professional discipline.
There will be travel to several sites, so you’ll need to have the ability to travel independently across your allocated region, sometimes outside or normal office hours.
You’ll have a passion for charity work and a strong commitment to the organisational performance and the care that we provide.
