**Outline of Job**

The HR Apprentice role is a developmental position within Cummins Generator Technologies. During a 4-year timescale you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of HR activities by supporting our 2 UK sites at Stamford and Peterborough. You will play an active role in contributing to the achievement of different team deliverables and objectives. During the apprenticeship you will also study for the Level 3 Apprenticeship in HR Support.

**Responsibilities**

You will gain experience of the following during your apprenticeship:

- Ensuring all employee files are set up and kept up to date
- Ensuring maintenance of employee records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality
- Administrative tasks related to new starters, leavers, and any other changes to employee terms and conditions
- Responding and advising on basic HR issues including maternity, sickness and general HR queries
- Supporting the recruitment process by writing job descriptions and posting job advertisements on the Company website and getting involved in the interview process
- Assisting with the induction process for new starters
- Supporting with time attendance system (e-time)
- Assisting with general copying, filing, archiving of documents as required
- Opportunities to be involved in project work
- Supporting business with regular or ad hoc requirements.
- Organising and preparing facilities for training and maintain training records
- Issuing references on request (visa, relocation and employment)
- Supporting the Line HR team in Employee Relation issues
- Data analysis & presentation preparation as required to support a wide variety of HR initiatives.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Minimum of GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above (level 4-9)
- 3 A levels Grade A-E are desirable.
- Good listening and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as working on your own.
- Good attention to detail
- Previous work experience or voluntary work is desirable.
- Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) confidentially.
- The desire to work in a professional office environment and to start your career is essential.

**Salary**: From £20,250.00 per year
