The Hammonds transport department are now searching for a **HGV Class 1 Driver (Day)**to support in the efficient delivery of caged goods to our nationwide Regional Service Centres. This is a full-time permanent position working 48 hours per week Monday to Friday. **TheHGV Class 1 Driver (Day)Role**
As well as supporting in the delivery of caged goods to our Regional Service Centres, you will be responsible for performing daily driver vehicle checks in accordance with DVSA regulations, as well as ensuring that all vehicle driver legal documentationhas been completed on a daily basis.
Typical duties for our **HGV Class 1 Driver (Day)**include:
- Efficient interactive delivery of caged goods to our Regional Service Centres.
- Awareness and adherence to site Health & Safety policies.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Have a thorough understanding of driver’s hours.
- Comply with Hammonds Furniture Ltd regulations in regards to:
- Cleanliness of allocated vehicle.
- Completion of working time directive time sheets.
- Report finished goods and production cage condition.
**About You**
Our **HGV Class 1 Driver (Day)** will have a minimum 12 months HGV Class 1 driving behind you, you will be fit and healthy as you will be interacting with the load and you will have a high level of commercial driving ability and awareness asyou will need to ensure full compliance with EU & UK commercial driver DVSA regulations and Highway code regulations.
You will need to have flexibility and possess a positive attitude to a dynamic working environment. We are looking for someone who is able to get stuck in, willing to get the job done, and has a friendly and approachable manner.
**Due to the nature of the role it is mandatory that you possess a HGV Class 1 licence.**
