Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer
Location: St Helens and Knowsley
Pay Rate: Negotiable
Contract Length: 2 months
Advantage Resourcing are working in partnership with a public sector organisation who are currently recruiting two infrastructure engineers.
*Use specialist IT knowledge to configure, implement, develop and deploy file servers and locally hosted systems.
*Use specialist IT knowledge to configure, implement, develop and deploy back office software systems.
*Use specialist IT knowledge to configure, implement, develop and deploy operating systems.
*Deploy hardware and software as per departmental needs and ensure that this technology is appropriately utilised to meet the needs of the Health Community.
*Survey and advise departments and practices on IT requirements adapting to provide individual solutions to suit specific users.
*Contribute to a comprehensive library of all software and software licenses.
*Undertake the logístical elements of the IT support service including receipt, storage and distribution of equipment maintaining strict change control and asset/inventory management.
*Deploy and test mechanisms for business continuity and disaster recovery as per departmental needs and policies.
*Provide and update documentation for the installation and administration of IT systems.
*Install IT equipment and software implementation in an efficient and effective manner minimizing user/patient disruption.
*Evaluate new hardware and software to be used within the trust.
*Liaise with external organizations & third party providers to resolve technical and logistic issues.
*Participate in 24-hour on-call Rota service contributing telephone and on-site support as necessary.
*Diagnose and rectify any technical issue escalated from 1st-line, 2nd-line and network teams and provide positive feedback to avoid future repetition.
*Undertake routine and general support duties as may be required from time to time with freedom to act as required to provide problem resolution.
*Be aware of all current legislative conditions particularly the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and undertake duties in accordance with this legislation.
*In the course of your employment you may come into contact with confidential information relating to both patients and staff. Strictest confidentiality must be maintained at all times and failure to do so may result in dismissal.
*Carry out other duties appropriate to the grade as may be required by the Director of Informatics.
*Attend courses and other training as appropriate for the post
*Attend mandatory training according to Trust policy
*Participate in the appraisal process
*Contribute to the Trusts ICT Strategy by recommending developments that utilise Information Technology to provide effective and efficient solutions to support the Trusts objectives.
