An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a matron to join the existing senior nursing leadership team within the Respiratory Division at WTWA.
We are looking for an exceptional leader who is experienced, innovative, and committed to excellence in all aspects of the role. You will be an experienced nurse who has held previous leadership / management roles at Band 7. You will be a highly visible leader, able to evidence how you have positively influenced practice and patient care.
As a Matron you will ensure and maintain the delivery of safe high-quality standards of care to our patients whilst also supporting staff wellbeing and development in their workplace. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to command credibility. Supporting service development and enhancing patient experience will be an essential aspect of the role.
As a key member of the Senior Nursing Team, working under the professional direction of the Lead Nurse and Head of Nursing for the Division of Respiratory, the Matron is responsible for the implementation of National and corresponding local Nursing Strategy.
Specifically, this means delivering the complex agenda as defined by the Matrons Charter, the NHS Institute’s ‘High Impact Actions’ and other National/Local guidance and policies, adopting a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, leading by example in empowering and developing staff to undertake a greater range of clinical activities in order to modernise and improve patient care.
Responsible for managing the nursing teams, clinical leadership, infection prevention and control and standards of patient care.
Act as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership and demonstration of competent, accountable clinical practice and modelling of core values.
Responsible for the performance management of key individuals in respect of the nursing contribution to service delivery.
