**SUPPORT WORKER - MELLOR, STOCKPORT**

Permanent Contract, 16 hours per week - Weekday & Weekend shifts - Direct client employment

A reliable, dynamic & caring team member required for a 19-year old man in his fully adapted property in Mellor. He has a diverse and fun set of hobbies including drumming, listening to rock music, going to the cinema, Marvel Universe, video gaming sessions, skiing, football and attending football matches & high adrenaline activities. With a range of complex needs, our client requires support in the home and community environments. The role includes supporting the individual to carry out his therapy programmes, personal care, manual handling, driving his adapted vehicle. Our client is a wheelchair user and client-specific training and supervision is provided on an ongoing basis.

**Shift Pattern**: Mon/Tues/Weds 7.30am - 5.30pm Thurs/Fri 10am - 8pm Saturday 10am - 4pm

**Essential criteria**:

- Commitment to client safeguarding, dignity & respect
- Ability to work the shifts required
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to think on your feet & dynamically risk assess activities
- Computer literacy
- Flexibility and availability to work the shifts advertised & meet the client’s needs
- Punctuality & excellent time-keeping
- Full clean driving licence & confidence driving the client’s adapted vehicle
- Physical ability to undertake all aspects of personal care & manual handling
- Patience and a positive attitude
- Ability to build a positive working relationship and promote the client’s engagement in carry-over therapies

**Preferable criteria**:

- NVQ/QCF (H&SC or education related)
- Experience of working in client’s home & health & social care delivery
- Experience of safeguarding procedures
- Understanding of cerebral palsy

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
