Working Hours: 06:00 - 22:00/7 days per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
We have number of opportunities for Safety Camera Officer’s to join the Traffic Bureau department at North Yorkshire Police.
In this exciting, challenging and rewarding role, you can make a difference to improve driver behaviour and reduce the number of serious and fatal collisions on North Yorkshire’s 6000 miles of road network. Your day-to-day role will include travel to designated locations and carry out speed, and other road traffic offence, enforcement using vehicle-based equipment. You will typically be required to work independently in this role, but it's important that our Safety Camera Officers are confident and professional when communicating with members of the public they are approached by.
You will be responsible for loading and unloading camera enforcement equipment, including the review and adjudication of offences captured by yourself on the camera devices. You will also be responsible for making consistent evidence-based decisions, preparing accurate court files and presenting evidence in court when required.

Essential criteria:
- Excellent numeric and literacy skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment at waist and shoulder height.
- Previous experience of maintaining accurate administrative records.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A current full driving licence due to the need to travel to various sites in Force vehicles.
