Spire Yale Hospital, Wrexham is currently looking to recruit for a Medical Devices Lead and Waste Co-ordinator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and friendly team.

**Working hours**:Monday - Friday 9 am to 5 pm

**_Please note, that the position will involve 22.5 hours dedicated to medical device responsibilities and 15 hours focused on waste coordination. _**
- In the role of Medical Devices Lead and Waste Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting colleagues and line managers in ensuring efficient operational management of waste, thereby contributing to a safe workplace for all employees. You will oversee that the management of clinical biomedical equipment aligns with Clinical Policy 53: Managing Medical Devices Policy throughout the hospital. _

**Duties and responsibilities (not limited to)**:

- Main point of contact for the maintenance and repair of all biomedical equipment, liaising with the clinical departments to ensure that equipment is accessible for the attending engineer at a mutually agreed time and date
- Ensure that there are suitable and sufficient clinical, offensive, general, dry mixed recycling and food waste bins available throughout the site
- Management and maintenance of biomedical equipment work orders within asset management systems
- Ensuring that there are suitable and sufficient internal and external storage arrangements for different types of waste
- Carry out daily compliance inspections of internal and external bins, initiating remedial action where possible, and reporting any concerns to the departmental manager
- Ensuring that all assets are documented within asset management systems and any required servicing is scheduled appropriately
- Reporting and investigating incidences and non-conformance through Spire’s incident reporting system (DCIQ)
- Support internal patient safety quality review (PSQR) audits, external audits including the annual pre-acceptance audit and CQC inspections
- Assist the clinical heads of departments to implement local service contracts and document as appropriate. All documentation to be uploaded to Nuvolo or Pirana as required
- Conducting quarterly waste management and carbon reduction committee meetings following the standardised meeting agenda

- Good communication & organisational skills
- Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential
- Knowledge of hospital computer system ‘SAP’ would be an advantage.
