Amcare Group care centres are located in Cheltenham, Basingstoke, Dartford, Lincoln, Nottingham, Runcorn, South Shields and Stirling. Our distribution centres are at Sunderland and Basingstoke. These form the Amcare Group making us one of the largest dispensing appliance contractors in the UK.
Responsible for providing Clinical direction and professional Leadership to the clinical services team to support the strategy and initiatives of the senior leadership team and the Amcare Group
Also responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services across the Amcare Group
- Risk Management - to ensure mechanisms are in place to drive high quality patient driven services across the company resulting in positive patient outcomes
- Responsible for maintaining professional standards including adherence to statutory regulations
- To provide clinical leadership across the Nursing team and the organisation to ensure compliance
- To develop and maintain relationships across the organisation through effective communication to help achieve company objectives
- Develop and encourage open communication with external stakeholders to drive business and promote improved quality of life for patients
- To act as the patients’ advocate when required.
- To act as a role model of expert clinical practice, empowering others through effective role modeling, teaching and team working.
- Ensures all confidential Patient Records and any data collection is maintained in line with Company and hospital policies using patient record system (PRS) where available.
- Understand Business Unit objectives and goals related to product usage and new client referrals and pass additional sales opportunities to appropriate Account Manager/Regional Business Manager.
- Provide educational sessions for professionals, end users and interest groups.
- To utilize and have a good understanding of the value of up to date research/evidence to deliver patient care and disseminate this knowledge to all members of the nursing team.
- To incorporate national and locally agreed standards and guidelines into clinical practice, including those of the Amcare Nursing Group.
- To identify areas of nursing practice within the specialty that would benefit from being researched and share findings with others through publication, conference and presentations.
- Ensure full understanding and compliance with SOPs, policies & procedures.
- Build and develop relations with Key Opinion Leaders within the Ostomy marketplace.
- Attendance at Key conferences and events in order to promote and develop self along with Amcare profile within the ostomy marketplace.
- Attendance at National and Regional meetings in order to maintain current knowledge of business unit strategies and objectives.
- Maintain professional competencies through attendance on external courses, professional meetings and personal reading. Completes all requirements for CPD and professional registration.
- Builds relationships internally, specifically with customer service, marketing, regulatory and medical, and inputs as required with key wording and collation of clinical research, case studies etc.
- Builds relationships with and communicates clearly with external customers including GP’s, Pharmacy Advisors, Acute Stoma Care Departments and any other Trust/CCG personnel involved in the provision of nursing service.
