**Job Title**:Product Technician (Conversion Specialist)
**Based**: Techni Limited, Shrewsbury
**Reports to**:Workshop Controller
**Role Purpose**:The installation of Vehicle Mounted Air Compressor Systems and Commercial Vehicle Conversions.
**Techni Systems, are rapidly expanding company based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We design, manufacture and install mobile compressed air systems, ancillaries and components onto LCV's for a variety of marketings including the mobile service and tyre industries.**
**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:
- Conversions of LCV's including the installation of racking and storage components as well as in house designed items as well as electrical ancillaries and components.
- Fitting of electrical item including external/Internal lighting along with battery management ancillaries
- Installation of engine mounted and stand alone air compressor systems
- Maintain good workshop house-keeping
- Complete all job cards on our internal system in a timely manner, providing a detailed summary of work performed, and parts used
- In house service of mobile air compressor systems, ancillaries and components
- Assist in product development with the Design and Development Engineers
- Assist in the development and updating of fitting instructions and technical bulletins
- Assist in the training of new staff across the Techni Systems team
- Complete other duties as assigned as required by the business
- Assist in warranty evaluation process.
**Essential Skills**
- Compressed air knowledge
- Attention to detail and consistent quality in all stages of work and reporting
- Automotive electrical knowledge with practical experience
- A methodical and logical approach to problem solving
- Flexible approach to working hour to suit customer expectations
- Able to work independently, self motivated with initiative, high energy and responsible attitudes towards customers and work undertaken
- Good organisational skills
- Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
- Good communication skills
- Strong team player
- Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Computer literate
- Fluency of English, Literacy - written, numeric and IT (Microsoft Office Packages)
- Full UK Driving Licence
**Desirable Skills**
- City & Guilds/IMI Level 3 or higher/HNC/HND in mechanical automotive/electrical engineering
- An appreciation of design & analysis techniques
- An understanding of Front End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD)
- Able to interpret and understand 2D engineering drawings
**Training**
- Full on site product training will be provided
