Beauty Tutor

Cedars Training Academy are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Beauty Tutor to join our Gloucester site, delivering teaching towards the range of Beauty courses on offer, including apprenticeships and short courses.

As a Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting learners through their respective qualifications. With a background in Beauty, you will draw upon your own knowledge and experience to guide learners to develop their understanding of the course content, while ensuring a safe, stimulating and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities:

- Plan, teach, assess and support learners throughout their learning journey
- Use various teaching methods to promote inclusive learning for all
- Manage learner records and track progress throughout their course
- Report directly to the Quality and Curriculum Manager
- Manage apprentice enrolment and induction, including initial assessments
- Follow and implement the Academy’s Health and Safety Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy and Safeguarding Policy at all times
- Accurately track written and practical assessments of each learner
- Provide continuous assessment and action planning of learner’s portfolios throughout their programme and final assessment, in preparation for Internal Verification
- Take part in standardization exercises and attend team meetings
- Keep up to date with new products, services and developments within the industry and complete regular CPD activities that show development within own practise
- Promote Equality and Diversity, British Values and Prevent Strategies
- Promote the benefits of Apprenticeships with Employers and Learners to support business growth
- Travel to a variety of locations as required by the needs of the role and business
- Ensure Safeguarding Policy and other internal policies are followed closely at all times

Essential Education, Qualifications and Experience:

- NVQ/Level 3 Diploma in Beauty or equivalent
- Relevant teaching qualification, e.g. Level 3 in Education and Teaching (formally PTLLS) or equivalent
- Experience of embedding Maths and English up to Level 2 (Functional Skills)
- Occupational competence within Hairdressing
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, qualifications and organisation standards
- Knowledge of safeguarding and the Prevent Duty

Desirable Education, Qualifications and Experience:

- Recognised assessing qualification, e.g. A1, CAVA or equivalent
- Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment, Processes and Practice
- Experience/qualifications in Nail Extensions
- Functional Skills qualifications/GCSE’s in Maths and English at Level 2/Grade C or above
- Occupational competence in other aspects of the industry, for example Administration and Customer Service skills
