Transport Planner

Bannister Transport are a family owned Temperature Controlled Distribution specialist based in the Vale of Evesham. We deliver mainly to Supermarket RDC's throughout the UK on a daily basis from our consolidation centre. Our customers supply the nation with Fresh Produce, Chilled Foods and Bakery goods.
Due to our growing customer base we are looking for talented individuals who not only can fill this role today but have the potential to be a future leader of our business.
**Working Sunday to Wednesday (4 nights per week) from 18:00 to 04:00 or 20:00 to 06:00 depending on work load. You will work as part of our night planning team who manage our overnight deliveries and collections.**
**You will be required to do first few weeks on day shift to ensure proper training and understanding of how the business operates.**
Main Duties include:
1. Organisation of delivery and collection of products at agreed times within customer requirements regarding the quality, safety and legality of the product, following the plan created by our Collection Planners and adjusting as necessary.
2. Ensure all loads are despatched in full and all product loading plans are checked to make sure we deliver excellent customer service in a cost efficient way.
3. Book resources in line with Company Procedures, adhering to budgets as advised by the Operations Manager
4. Works closely with the Fleet & Training Manager to ensure all vehicles and trailers are available when testing is required and or maintenance procedures.
5. Flexible in working hours to ensure all Operational roles and tasks are covered daily.
6. Undertake other activities as requested by the Operations Manager or Head of Operations.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will follow a structured induction programme to learn all about our process and procedures.
You will be expected to be flexible during the first few weeks as we teach you the basics of our processes before settling into your regular shift patterns, This will involve the first few weeks working with our Day planners to get a grounding for our processes and understanding our customer needs, before continuing your training with our Night Staff.
The right person will be an outgoing individual with a good general geographic knowledge. The ability to think analytically and work as part of a team to solve problems effectively. Previous experience within a Transport Office or Planning role would be a distinct advantage.
The rewards are up to £32K per annum for the right person, together with 24 days annual leave. There will be opportunities for overtime to assist the team during periods of holidays.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
