Job Description: EARLY CHILDHOOD PRACTITIONER
Main purpose
To work as part of a small team providing early learning and childcare for children aged 2 to 5 years. Provide a safe, friendly, stimulating environment and plan, develop and provide high quality nursery experiences for all children.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. To establish and develop a stable, friendly, nurturing and trusting relationship with the children and their parents, ensuring they are made to feel welcome at the nursery and that the parents are kept informed of their child’s development.
2. To observe and record children’s individual learning progress and prepare reports on children’s development as required and with support.
3. To work with colleagues to provide and record a variety of stimulating activities which provide children with opportunities to explore, discover and expand their learning.
4. To be responsible for the care and safety of the children during the session, ensuring that the standards of the nursery comply with the current, policies, procedures and regulations.
5. To clean, pack away and set out the nursery as required, along with colleagues.
6. To attend training sessions as and when required
7. Attend regular staff meetings to plan and reflect on how things are going and provide reflective feedback.
8. Take turns on roles and responsibilities along with the other staff, e.g., preparing snack
9. To keep your SSSC registration and personal learning development up to
