Trainee Joiner

At Supellex we specialise in making contact furniture. Both mass production and bespoke.

The ideal applicant will be a reliable and dedicated individual, with a good work ethic along with a keen and enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn. The position would be ideal for someone who wants to learn the foundations of joinery and develop their career opportunities within our joinery department

What the Role initials
- Learning to identify different types of wood / timber and their uses, choosing the right piece for a job.
- Preparing and coating timber ready for assembling into various benches, planters and other street furniture.
- Understanding and working to technical drawings
- Measuring and marking wood according to technical designs
- Assisting with the control of materials within the workshop
- Using hand tools working up to cutting wood on machines. (full training will be given)
- Labouring
- Conducting quality checks on supplies and finished products

**Requirements**:

- Physical fitness as you will be lifting raw materials
- Must be eager and willing to learn new skills
- Must be interested in how products are made
- Must be able to use hand tools and have some experience with building things at home or in education
- A formal qualification in carpentry or similar is advantageous but not essential
- Any prior experience with carpentry or joinery is advantageous but not essential
- Must be able to commute to work and be relable

Kirkby in Ashfield based

Mainly factory based but very occasional on site work and possibly overnight stays will be required. Accommodation and meals are included.

Normal Hours:
7am - 4pm Monday - Thurday

7am - 12pm - Friday

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.00-£11.00 per hour
