Shop Assistant

As Shop Assistant, you will be expected to offer assistance and sells products to customers in the shop outlet. Your primary duties include arranging products on the display shelves, processing payments, opening/ closing the shop, completing stock counts, and keeping the shop clean and tidy. You will be the face of the business, ensuring we deliver the best service possible and that the shop operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining its good reputation and ethos.

**Responsibilities**:

- Arranging products on the display shelves.
- Using the till and systems including processing payments.
- Setting up the shop for opening.
- Closing and locking up the shop.
- Satisfying customer requests in a timely manner.
- Assessing customer preferences and making recommendations.
- Providing a positive and friendly customer experience by interacting with customers.
- Using the till/ POS systems. Taking moneys and providing change as needed.
- Checking identification to verify legal age requirements.
- Keeping a well-stocked shop with an adequate product supply.
- Cleaning the shop and work area to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations.
- Follow SOPs and check lists.
- Meet and greet customers, responding to customer queries and complaints.
- Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
- Comply with licensing laws and other legal requirements.
- Work with our delivery partners. Including delivery driver management.

Working hours
- The shop opening times are 9am-9pm but these could change, you may be expected to come in earlier to set up or stay late to close down the shop.
- Agreed on an individual basis, but can include late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

What to expect
- Your primary duties will include arranging products, processing payments, opening/ closing the shop, completing stock counts and keeping the shop clean and tidy.
- This is a hands-on role; you will be expected to get stuck and be positive with our customers.
- Dress codes: You can wear your own cloths as long appropriate, clean, and tidy, or a uniform can be requested.
- You will be placed onto a 3-month probation period.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £9.50 per hour
