**The Role**:
We are currently looking for a Finance Manager to join our dedicated and friendly Finance team, on a 9-month fixed term contract.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the oversight and support of the finance team. They will be required to keep up to date financial records in line with the contracts held by the organisation and will work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual agreements and grants are met. The post holder will review periodic financial statements, including but not limited to, profit and loss accounts, costing models for bids and grants, cash flows, data analysis and commentaries. They will also provide accurate and relevant information to aid in management decision making.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the Strategic Management Accountant in bidding for other work, review and oversee with Head of Finance before submission
- Ensure all Migrant Help policies and operating procedures are followed and review financial and costing models, as required, for changes to contract or re-tender
- Analysing financial performance information and advise on how to improve efficiency, prevent problems, adapt to change and increase value
- Work closely with the Head of Finance on Senior Management reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Support management accountants through the budget process, meeting with operational colleagues, analysing information and proposing solutions and consolidate for Board approval
- Providing feedback to the Senior Leadership Team on arising financial issues and support longer term business planning through reporting and analysis
- Support longer term business planning through reporting and analysis
- Interpret financial information to non-financial managers
- Implement and monitor controls for effectiveness, updating financial polies and procedures for annual review
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns, payroll and filing information
- Ensure all staff development requirements are met within agreed time scales, through Staff Supervision and Appraisal (SAA) and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- To cover absence for the Head of Finance, as required
- Oversee transactional and management accounts processes and train any change requests

**The experience and skills you need**:

- Experience working in accounting, producing management accounts, costing analysis and reports for Senior Managers
- Good clear written and spoken English
- Experience of working with stakeholders at all levels
- Exceptional IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
