**The Role**

As a Payroll Accountant, you will take ownership of the UK business payroll system, ensuring the balance sheets are measured accurately and are completed. Additionally, you will be expected to understand the drivers of variations in payroll costs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Reconciling payroll reports to the general ledger and bank statements
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll related accounts
- Monitor all action surrounding the payroll journal automation process ensuring transactions that are posted to a default account are cleared
- Take responsibility of all audit queries for both internal and external audits

**Professional and personal competencies/qualifications**
- Ideally qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent, however, part qualified/QBE will also be considered
- Previous experience working in a finance team is extremely desirable
- Excellent IT and Microsoft skills
- Have a general understanding of payroll/pensions statutory compliance
- Immediately available or short notice would be preferred however one month is accepted
