**About the role**
We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our park adheres to all health and safety regulations, identifying hazards, conducting risk assessments, and educating staff on safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

**Salary**: £25k-£32k depending on experience
**General Responsibilities (non-exhaustive)**
- Conduct regular on-site safety inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Employ safe working techniques and ensure the implementation and upholding of health and safety regulations.
- Foster cordial and professional relationships with all employees.
- Standardize health and safety procedures for consistency and promote safety initiatives.
- Maintain compliance registers, such as calibration document management.
- Document staff information, meeting minutes, and management reports.
- Review equipment-related paperwork for compliance.
- Identify and assess hazards, risks, and control measures.
- Continuously review operations to identify and mitigate hazards, including cost assessments.
- Monitor and supervise temporary work areas.
- Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Supervise and monitor workplace hazards and ensure all employees meet regulated safety requirements.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Investigate and record health and safety breaches, near misses, and first aid incidents, reporting to appropriate authorities.
- Develop and implement relevant training programs for employees and management.
- Keep records of safety-related incidents as per company policies.
- Recommend appropriate protective equipment for tasks.
- Supervise the installation of potentially hazardous equipment and halt processes deemed harmful to worker health.
- Review and update safety policies as necessary and conduct or organize safety-related training sessions.
- Liaise with contractors, self-employed individuals, and health and safety enforcement.
- Deliver training programs using various formats, including VR, manuals, group sessions, and videos.
- Log all safety and training documentation in the company’s digital system and ensure all training documentation is accurately completed.
- Present training sessions both in-person and online.
- Report to the Safety Manager and direct line manager regarding non-compliance issues.
- Arrange licensing assessments for maintenance activities.
- Complete daily safety checklists and duty manager report sections.
- Deliver toolbox talks and input safety data using company apps.
- Compile and file evidence of events pertaining to potential claims against the company on health and safety grounds.
- Conduct regular fire safety checks, including fire risk assessments, fire suppression systems, and emergency lighting.
- Schedule and oversee fire safety maintenance services.

- Current and continuing involvement within the business sector
- Worked in amusement, rail, aviation, emergency services, oil and gas, or motor industry
**Aptitudes and Abilities**

- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Highly developed ICT skills to support the development of relevant documentation and communication
- Have a flexible approach and the ability to liaise with section heads, employers, contractors, and curriculum staff
- Can manage own workload unsupervised and work across various locations

- A good understanding of health & safety culture and implementation
