Mitie is passionate about bringing about positive change for our customers and aspires to be their decarbonisation partner as they embark on the journey to Net Zero. A key element of this is the electrification of transport, including our customers' fleets, and this role will play a crucial part in defining what the transition to electric vehicles (EV) and deployment of associated charging infrastructure looks like for our clients, as part of their broader decarbonisation agendas.

The role will be part of the Plan Zero Consulting & Advisory team, Mitie's team responsible for advising clients on how to accelerate their path to net zero by defining and executing decarbonisation solutions. You will be part of the Transport team and will support customers to understand the trends impacting future mobility and how they should respond in order to reduce emission from transport operations. You will work very closely with the EV Solutions team, which designs and implements EV charging infrastructure solutions for clients, and by being at the interface of the Consulting and Business Development teams, the role will ensure that advisory opportunities can move into the delivery and execution phase.

**What will you do day to day?**

The Transport Consultant will report to the Transport Consulting Manager, while working closely with all relevant members of the Plan Zero Consulting & Advisory team. You will be expected to deliver billable consultancy services to new and existing customers as required by specific engagements. From a future mobility and transport perspective, the work will focus on delivering advisory services that are aligned with the target segments and value proposition that the EV Solutions team is selling to clients.

Typical advice you would be providing our clients includes:

- Defining high level fleet transition strategies taking in consideration our customers' fleet size, vehicle types, vehicle use cases, and charging requirements
- Written proposals defining customer needs, Mitie solutions and the benefits to the customer
- Educating customers on the implications of transitioning to EVs, including potential high-level impacts on business operations
- Communicating the implications of electrifying their fleets on the broader decarbonisation agendas, including consideration of green power to supply charge points, potential deployment of behind the meter storage and/or on-site generation to provide a comprehensive view of net zero activities to customers
- Identifying innovative and tailored solutions to support our clients' fleet decarbonisation ambitions

As part of your role, you will be:

- Managing a suite of client facing transport decarbonisation projects
- Preparing written client proposals to support decarbonising fleet
- Performing analysis on customer fleet data to generate insights
- Producing impactful reports with findings and recommendations
- Delivering presentations to clients and participating in workshops
- Undertaking market studies for new low emission vehicle technologies and solutions
- Engaging with fleet and industry stakeholders through workshops, webinars, and other methods
- Building close relationships with clients and become a ‘go-to' contact for sustainable transport related queries
- Supporting development project proposals for customers tailored to their transport decarbonisation needs
- Market and company research on transport decarbonisation topics, current and future trends, company net zero strategies.

This role requires experience in sustainability and/or transport, as well as knowledge of energy and carbon reduction strategies supporting net zero decarbonisation plans. The role will be responsible for delivering projects that provide a clear pathway to enable the electrification of fleets and transport operations, enabling our clients to go harder and faster in their carbon reduction ambitions.
