Machine Inspector

**Due to growth within our hire fleet, and working alongside our current Machine Inspector, we are looking to add an additional person to our inspection team. The purpose of the role is to ensure quality within our hire and sales fleet (Shredders, Screeners, Sorters) post and pre-hire or sale to ensure the continued quality of units delivered to our customers.**

**This position will be based our HQ in Allostock, Knutsford and the main duties will be to**:

- Inspect units coming back from hire for damage, operational and safety issues.
- Inspect new units coming into CRJ hire or sales stock.
- Write reports for highlighting any remedial works required pre hire or sale, including those that should be covered under warranty.
- Assess what parts will be required and work with parts department to have these ready.
- Help the Workshop Foreman to schedule in works with the Workshop Team.
- Carry out pre delivery inspections (PDIs) on all hire and sales units.
- Ensure any issues are rectified pre delivery and schedule in any other works required for the future.
- Keep all appropriate team members up to date with any issues.
- Must be able to drop back to some ‘hands’ on mechanical jobs where workload dictates.

**Skills**
- Must have knowledge of heavy plant
- Current mechanical skills (may suit someone wanting to step back from hands on mechanical work).
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Able to record details either handwritten or electronic.
- Great team working and communicator.
- Must be able to work across departments.
- Work to set timescales.
- IT literate.
