We truly believe that we have a huge role to play in helping the nation to cut carbon emissions and prepare for a net zero future, and it’s a role we are immensely proud of. **An opportunity to play your part** - As the successful Category Specialist your role is to take responsibility for comprehensive "end-to-end" category management, encompassing tender processes, negotiation of favourable terms, finalising commercial aspects, and establishing long-term contracts with suppliers. The goal is to effectively implement the outlined category strategies for Construction goods and services. Situated within the Core Team of the Procurement department, the role provides crucial support to the infrastructure sector of the business, specifically Centrica Business Solutions. Bringing experience in operations and maintenance (O&M) services, familiarity with works and construction-type activities would be highly advantageous in fulfilling the responsibilities of this role. **The day to day** - Collaborate with business stakeholders to execute a wave plan of procurement activities aligned with the Category Strategy. - Take the lead in conducting procurement tenders in accordance with the established category strategy. - Lead commercial negotiations to secure favourable terms for the organization. - Head contract drafting and negotiation, working closely with Commercial Legal and specialists' legal teams to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. - Develop and implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities in adherence to the Centrica SRM framework. - Manage the contract governance process in collaboration with business stakeholders, including participation in the Group Contracts Committee. - Collaborate with risk SME teams to proactively manage and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities. - Efficiently manage and optimize the supplier base within the category, employing buying channels and the category playbook for tactical sourcing as applicable. - Foster collaboration across the Procurement Function to ensure the delivery of the best possible experience for stakeholders. **What’s in it for you -** - Competitive salary and bonus potential. - Employee Energy Allowance at 15% of the government price cap. - Pension scheme. - Company Funded Healthcare Plan. - 25 days holiday allowance, plus public holidays, and the option to buy up to 5 additional days. - Excellent range of flexible benefits, including technology vouchers, electric car lease scheme & travel insurance. **_ At Centrica we embrace diversity and actively seek to attract individuals with unique backgrounds and perspectives.
